Abstract:
To provide an on-satellite exchange device which effectively copes with the generation of a large amount of NACK packets.
An on-satellite ATM exchanger 101 secures a band in SVC for NACK by assuming that a data packet is transferred with high reliability in a multi-cast group and the NACK packet is hardly transferred. The exchanger 101 monitors a NACK flow in the multi-cast group, abandons the NACK packets when it is decided that congestion occurs in the NACK flow owing to the temporary increase of the NACK packets, and temporarily increases the bands to be assigned to SVC for NACK in order to cope with a large amount of re-transmitted NACK packets. When it is decided that the congestion is solved the band of SVC for NACK is restored.
