Abstract:

PURPOSE: To better the movement of an obstacle, especially, a bend pipe part while obtaining sufficient receiving sensitivity by getting a receiving coil elastically close to the internal wall of a buried pipe in the detection of flaws.
CONSTITUTION: In a remote field. eddy current flaw detector in which a flaw detection sensor having a transmitting unit having a transmitting coil and a receiving unit 4 having a receiving coil 3 are linked away at a specified distance runs in a buried pipe 33 to perform a detection at a point to be detected, the receiving unit 4 has a number of contact pieces 17 formed long in the direction of moving on the outer circumference of an apparatus body connected to the transmitting unit or the like. The contact pieces are supported with a support bar 24 drivable to expand elastically free to move inward or outward and the receiving coil 3 is set on the respective pieces 17.
