Abstract:
To provide a scintillator for neutron capable of detecting neutron with high sensitivity, and having little influence of a background noise originated in γ-rays, and to provide a neutron detector using the neutron scintillator.
This scintillator for neutron comprises a borate containing at least Mg and a divalent transition element (compound obtained by adding a divalent transition element such as Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu and Zn to a borate represented by chemical formula MgmBnOm+3n/2 (where, m and n each represent a positive integer), or the like).
