Abstract:
To provide a scrap preheating type electric steel making furnace having a high heat recovery efficiency without needing a high initial cost.
One side wall of a body 7 of an arc furnace is externally enlarged to integrally form a preheating chamber 8 for staying metal scraps 31. Exhaust gas of the furnace is exhausted via the preheating chamber. The body of the furnace is tilted so that the preheating chamber side is disposed upside so that the scraps in the preheating chamber are dropped and charged in the body.
