PURPOSE: To obtain a scrap press which is capable of raising density of a compressed scrap, and equalizing it, by constituting so as a pre-loading in a pre- compression chamber, compression of upper (middle) part of pocket, and high pressure (final) compression in a main compression chamber are executed from different directions, respectively.
CONSTITUTION: Into a pre-compression chamber 2 which has blocked the end face by depressing a slide 9 in advance by a pressure cylinder 10, a scrap is measured by a bucket 22, and after that, is thrown by operating a dump cylinder 24. Subsequently, the chamber 2 in this state is covered with a cover 18 and is blocked, a side head 7 is slid by operating a side cylinder, and the scrap is molded by pre-pressure. Subsequently, the slide 9 is made to ascend, the head 7 is advanced again, the pre-pressed scrap is extruded into a pocket 4, and after that, the slide 9 is depressed, and the pre-pressed scrap is cut to prescribed length by cutting edges 17, 17 and is compressed. Subsequently, a main cylinder 11 is operated, a main rod 13 is extruded, the scrap in the pocket 4 is inserted into a main compression chamber 6, and is compressed by high pressure. After that, the cylinder 11 is operated again, the rod 13 is extruded, and the molded scrap is discharged to the outside of the machine from an opening part 15.
