To provide a screen printing apparatus and a screen printing method preventing printing quality defects caused by the leak of paste and capable of extending the life of parts.
In the screen printing apparatus for printing cream solder 5 on a substrate by sliding a hermetically closed squeegee head 13 storing the solder 5 on a mask plate 12, two scraping-off parts 36, 37 forming the front and rear walls of a printing space housing the pressurized cream solder 5 and bringing the cream solder 5 into contact with the surface of the mask plate 12 and provided in contact with the mask plate at the lower end parts thereof are provided with the first blades 36A, 37A provided on the side of the printing space and the second blades 36B, 37B provided outside the first blades to doubly scrape off the cream solder 5. By this constitution, scraping-off failure is not generated even by low pressure force and printing quality is ensured and the life of the scraping-off parts can be extended.
