To provide a screen for projection which not only makes it possible to obtain a clear image without being affected by projection environment, but also can improve the contrast of the image to obtain a sharp image, and to provide a manufacturing method for the same.
A stray light absorbing layer 13 is formed on an optical thin film 12. This stray light absorbing layer 13 transmits light of the primary-color wavelength region and light in an invisible wavelength region, and absorbs stray light near the wavelength region of the primary-color light. Hence the light of the primary-color light wavelength region with a sharp spectrum falls on the optical thin film 12. The optical thin film 12 reflects only the light of the primary-color wavelength having the sharp spectrum, and light of other wavelength regions is absorbed by a substrate 11. Consequently, the contrast of an image formed on the screen 10 for projection is enhanced.
