To provide a screw driving device capable of miniaturized the whole constitution, reasonably coping with external force even under unexpected occurrence, and comprising a function for easily controlling the movement of a driven body.
This screw driving device is composed of a driving screw 31 having a spiral groove 31a on its peripheral face with a desired lead, and provided with a shaft insertion hole 32 at its shaft center, driving shafts 34, 34' slidably inserted into the insertion hole 32 of the screw for transmitting torque, a decelerating motor 40 for applying power to the driving shafts, an automatic return type control means for cutting off an electric source when the thrust more than steady thrust acts on the driving screw 31, and a supporting structure member mounted on a machine body or the like in a state of surrounding the structural portions, an operating member (power transmission arm 7) comprising a plurality of power transmission rollers 7a arranged at intervals corresponding to the lead of the screw, is constituted to linearly drive the power transmission rollers 7a in a state of being engaged with the spiral groove 31a of the screw.
