PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screw press type filter which can be efficiently washed.
SOLUTION: In the case of washing a filtering body 10, a control part 40 performs the control of stopping the supply of treating objects from a supply part 13, then rotating a screw 4 for a fixed period, discharging the treated object inside the filtering body 10 from a discharge port 9 and closing a back pressure valve 21. Then the control part 40 stops the rotation of the screw 4, jets washing water from a washing pipe to the filtering body 10 and washes the filtering body 10 for a fixed period. Subsequently, the control part 40 performs the control of stopping the jetting of the washing water, then opening a stop valve 31, inversely rotating the screw 4, carrying residual objects larger than a filtering opening remaining inside the filtering body 10 to the side of a residual object discharge part 30 and discharging them from the residual object discharge part 30.
