Abstract:
To provide a screw thread chipping detector and a screw thread chipping detecting method, capable of accurately detecting whether a screw thread is chipped off without damaging threads of the screw.
This detector is equipped with a fluid discharging means 1 for discharging a fluid to the threads 5 of a tested screw hole 3, bored in a worked component 2 in an oblique direction relative to the axial direction of the hole 3 and re-discharging the discharged fluid to the threads 5 of the hole 3 at a prescribed angle, a fluid-supplying means 8 connected to the means 1 to supply it with the fluid pressurized to a prescribed pressure, and a pressure detecting means 9 connected to the means 1 to detect the pressure of the supplied fluid.
