This scroll expander is provided with a casing (10), a crankshaft (70) arranged in the casing (10) and an expansion mechanism (20) arranged in the casing (10) and coupled to the crankshaft (70), and expands operating fluid by the expansion mechanism (20). Back pressure spaces (39, 40) airtightly sectioned from the expansion chamber (33) and into which lubricating oil is supplied are formed between the movable scroll (26) and a housing (80). The movable scroll (26) is configured to be eccentrically rotated with it brought into pressure contact with a fixed scroll (21) by back pressure of the back pressure spaces (39, 41). A journal bearing (32) and an Oldham's coupling (36) are arranged in the back pressure spaces (39, 41).
