PURPOSE: To prevent end plates from being made in contact abnormally with laps by providing a connecting means to connect both scrolls to each other so that a follower scroll is rotated in synchronous with a driving scroll and also providing a counterweight at the back of the end plates, to eliminate deformation of the end plates.
CONSTITUTION: When driving side engaging members 71 are rotated by rotating a drive scroll 3, either of the engaging members 71 is made in contact with a follower side engaging member 72 to rotate it to transmit a rotational force of the drive scroll 3 to a follower scroll 4. By this, a working chamber between both laps 32 and 42 is contracted as it is moved toward the center of it to compress fluid. Also a moment to deflect end plates 31 and 41 to their rear side is produced in this rotational driving. Since a counterweight 9 is provided at the back of the end plates 31 and 41 and a moment to deflect the end plates 31 and 41 to their front side is produced by it, however, these both moments are offset with each other and the end plates 31 and 41 are rotated without being deflected.
