To provide a scrubber capable of atomizing water that adsorbs hydrolytic or water-soluble corrosive gas or solid components contained in exhaust gas without use of a circulation pump, thereby minimizing trouble caused by corrosive liquids or solid components.
The scrubber 16 includes a casing 46 having an internal space G through which exhaust gas F is allowed to flow, a water atomizing means 48 for atomizing water W to exhaust gas F, and a water tank 50 that is provided in a lower section of the casing 46, stores water W that is to be atomized by the means 48, and recovers water W atomized by the means 48. The means 48 is opened in its one end in the internal space G of the casing 46 and comprises a water atomizing pipe 60 formed with a throttle section 64 of a smaller cross-section than those of other sections in a part thereof, and a water supplying pipe 62 in which one end thereof is opened in the section 64 or in the pipe 60 in the vicinity of the downstream end of the section 64, the other end is connected to the tank 50, and which supplies water W to be atomized to exhaust gas F to the pipe 60.
