Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a novel sea water corrosion resistant material in which the sticking of marine organism, particularly that of barnacles can be prevented more economically than the case in the conventional one.

CONSTITUTION: This sea water corrosion resistant material in which the sticking of marine organism is prevented is a one contg. ≤1.0% C, ≤0.25% Si, ≤2.0% Mn, 7.0 to 20.0% Al, ≤0.015% P, ≤0.0005% S, > 0.5 to 9.0% Cr and 50 to 80% Cu and contg., at need, 0.01 to 0.5% Ti and Nb alone or in combination, and the balance iron with inevitable impurities.
