Abstract:

PURPOSE: To facilitate collation by regarding points where a contour line changes abruptly as a singular point, and collating data on only plural singular points.

CONSTITUTION: A reader 50 which reads a code number printed on a check 1 and a camera device 2 which takes a picture of a seal impression on the check 1 are provided in the middle of a conveyance path for the check, etc. The camera device 3 includes a read line sensor and a binary coding circuit and converts a picture signal into a binary signal to sent the binary signal to a picture processor 4. The picture processor 4 extracts points where the contour line of the seal impression changes abruptly as singular points and discriminating coincidence with the singular points of a reference seal impression stored in a picture memory 42 to discriminate whether the input seal impression is true or not.
