Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable joint which enable the sealing between a casing prevent entry of hydrogen and an anchor in order to connect a couple of optical cables to be installed under the water.
SOLUTION: A cable joint has a casing 130, an anchor 120, a casing load ring 150 an anchor load ring 145 and a seal ring 140. The seal ring 140 is provided between a casing seal surface 153 and a casing load ring seal surface 150a and moreover it is also provided between an anchor seal surface 157 and an anchor load ring seal surface 145a to prevent entry of hydrogen into the cable joint 100.
