To provide a seal assembly for sealing an aperture in a fixed leading edge for storing a strut of a translating cable device of an electric deicing system so as not to cause aerodynamic drag and undesirable flow disturbances, when the slat is unfolded for a high lift form (in a takeoff and landing situation).
An aircraft wing assembly includes: a wing 2 including a fixed leading edge 7; a slat 6 mounted so as to be moved between a retracted position and an extended position with respect to the fixed leading edge; and a translating cable device 9 electrically connecting the slat to the wing and including a strut 12 with one end coupled to the slat. The fixed leading edge includes an aperture 15 for housing the strut, and a seal assembly for sealing between the strut and the aperture.
