Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the titled sealant which is made of a textile material consisting of a blend of base fiber and zinc/aluminum alloy fiber, has an improved anticorrosive action and a good sealing property and is suitable as a pressure seal.

CONSTITUTION: The sealant is made of a textile material consisting of a blend of base fiber such as artificial or natural fibers and anticorrosive zinc/aluminum alloy fiber. The aluminum should be contained in about 5W20wt%, because when the content is less than about 5wt%, the sealant can hardly retain fibrous state and when it exceeds about 20wt%, the corrosion preventive property is degraded. The textile material includes twisted or braided yarns consisting of base fiber and zinc/aluminum alloy fiber, braid and woven or knitted fabrics made of said yarns or strings, felt prepared by entangling the two fibers, etc. When necessary, it may be compressed.
