Abstract:
To provide a sealed battery featuring high safety and having an explosion-proof mechanism in which the leakage of an electrolyte is prevented.
The opening part of a bottomed battery case 1 in which a power generation element is housed is sealed with a sealing plate 7 through a gasket 5, the gasket 5 has an explosion-proof thin part 5a, and a vent hole 7a is formed in the sealing plate 7. A liquid non-permeable porous member 8 having gas permeability is arranged between the gasket 5 and the sealing plate 7. The porous member 8 has a gas permeability of 10 sec/100 ml or less and a tortuosity ratio of 5 or more.
