PURPOSE: To provide a sealing arrangement for window glass in an automobile by moving a flexible seal lip part supported adjacently to window glass, between a first position of being engaged with the window glass and a second position of being released from engagement by a selective control means.

CONSTITUTION: A body part 20 of a sealing means 22 supports seal lip parts 24, 26 and shoulder parts 28, 30, 32, and a body part 22 is tightly fitted into a channel member 38. A seal lip part 36 is engaged with outer surface of window glass 10. A cam member 46 is fitted to the side part of an L-shape member 42 bonded to the lower end part of the window glass 10. The cam member 46 is engaged with an angular part 50 of the channel member 38 in a position where the window glass 10 is raised to the uppermost part, and the seal lip part 36 is engaged with the window glass 10 to seal. When the window glass 10 moves down, the cam member 46 moves down and is released from engagement with the channel member 38. The channel member 38 is rotated clockwise around an axis 41 by the energizing force of a band member 40 so as to release engagement between the seal lip part 36 and the surface of the window glass 10.
