To provide a sealing container for food which is conveniently reused because it is provided with a lid open preventive device and its lid surely maintains airtightness in reusing the same.

A semirigid or soft plastic body 1 and a hard plastic lid 2 are joined in a true circle. The top end of the body is formed with an overhang peripheral wall 15 whose cross section is U-shaped formed with a mouth wall 13, which is an inner peripheral wall, connected through a bottom wall 17 and an annular protrusive strip 23 is formed at the bottom end of the overhang peripheral wall. The lid is hangingly provided with an outer peripheral wall 27 which tightly adheres to the overhang peripheral wall by resilient force and forms a gap relative to the mouth wall at the inside of the peripheral edge part received by the top end of the overhang peripheral wall of the body. An inside protrusive strip 29 whose tip end tightly adheres to the inside tip end of the mouth wall for keeping a space at the top of the gap for stopping capillary action is hangingly provided at the inside of the wall 27. As a lid open preventing device, a fitting groove and a fitting protrusion are formed for mutual engagement on the outer peripheral wall and on the overhang peripheral wall. The fitting groove 21 at the lowest position on the overhang peripheral wall is formed for cutting off for cutting off the top part as a strip winding piece.
