Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing device which seals by applying water on a re-moistening paste of an envelop, and can wet a dry water absorbing part with water uniformly and evenly in a short time.SOLUTION: A pad 6 placed in a water tank 4 can freely move between a water applying position (Fig. 6) in which an upper end part 20 is in contact with a re-moistening paste of an envelop, and a water absorbing position (Fig. 7) below. When a water level sensor 5 detects that a water level is lower than a predetermined value, the water tank 4 is replenishes with water in a state that the pad 6 is in the water applying position, and then the pad 6 except for an upper end surface is set in the water absorbing position. After a predetermined time passes, the pad 6 is returned in the water applying position. An immersion time of the pad 6 with water can be controlled accurately, and a wet state of the pad 6 can be made in a prescribed state. In addition, excess water does not adhere on the upper end surface 20.
