Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide an excellent seal effect,by providing many fine air holes in the unfired polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) rod to intermittently apply a tachifier to the interior and one side surfaces of the fine air hole. CONSTITUTION:An unfired PTFE rod 2, previously formed into porous material, is fed from a supply reel 1, and to the top face is applied a back treating agent 3 on the only one face by using an apply roll 4, with a dry baking processed by a heating furnace 5. Thereafter, to bottom face of the PTFE rod 2 is intermittently applied a hot melt tachifier 7 by using a gear wheel shape roll 8. At this time, with the PTFE rod 2 pressed by a flat roll 9, a fully molten tachifier in a flat state is impregnated to the fine hole. And the intermittently applied tachifier is cooled by a cooling furnace 10 and solidified, with the PTFE rod 2 reeled by a roll 11. In such manufacture of sealing rod, an excellent seal effect can be provided.
