PURPOSE: To enable long display time of search information video display system for an ultrasonic wave distance measuring apparatus by always writing retained large level information in sub memories, then writing the contents of the sub memories in main memories, and repeatedly reading the information from the main memories to thereby display the information.

CONSTITUTION: An AD converter 4 converts searched information P3 into a binary code signal, and applies the binary code signal to corresponding sub memories 51... 54 and comparator 8. The comparator 8 sequentially compares the respective outputs of the AD converter 4 with the written contents of the sub memories 51...54 corresponding thereto at every picture element information, and always retains large level information to write the information in the sub memories 51...54. The contents of the sub memories 51...54 are written in the main memories 61...64. A decoder 9 converts the read information from the main memories 61...64 into 16 types of signals, and applies the signals through a color signal generator 10 to a braun tube display unit 11.
