To provide a searching system that is capable of deducing the oscillation frequency of a wiretap, which transmits on an unknown frequency, with high accuracy in a short time.
The searching system, which searches a wiretap of wireless type, sends dummy sounds in a searching area and enables the searching function of a receiver to start operating by a personal computer to store reception information as sound information of each step frequency in a memory within a search range. At this point, a set of silent information and marker signals following after it is stored in the memory together with the reception information received on each step frequency. The personal computer compares the reception information on all data stored in the memory with dummy signals of the same sound with the previously stored dummy sounds and deduces the reception frequency of the judgement reception information when it is judged by the personal computer that the reception information, which is acknowledged as the same sounds with the dummy sounds of the dummy sound source, is present.
