Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent sharp increase of secondary air in the transition from deceleration operation to idling operation by arranging a pressure transmission delaying means in the sir opening hole of a secondary air controlling apparatus. CONSTITUTION:When an engine operates except in idling operation, a three-way valve 18 intercepts an air opening hole 19, and communicates to a negative pressure passage 17, so the intake negative pressure in the intake passage 2 on the downstream side of a throttle valve 3 is introduced into the negative pressure chamber 15 of a control valve 13 equipped with a diaphragm 14, and a relief valve 10 opens and closes a relief valve 9 according to the increase or decrease of the intake negative pressure, and the relief amount and the secondary air amount are controlled. When operation shifts from deceleration operation to idling operation, an idle detecting apparatus 20 generates signals, and the three-way valve 18 allows a negative pressure chamber 15 to communicate to the air opening hole 19. Accordingly, by means of a pressure transmission delaying means 21 (orifice) arranged in the air opening hole 19, negative pressure decreases gradually, and the relief hole 9 is closed gradually.
