Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery with high reliability that allows for surface mounting.SOLUTION: In a secondary battery, a power generation element 4 having a positive electrode 1, an electrolyte layer 2 and a negative electrode 3 laminated in this order is stored in an insulated housing 6 having external electrodes 5P and 5N on an outer surface thereof, a metal lid 7 is attached to cover an opening of the housing 6, and the lid 7 is electrically connected to the external electrode 5N with a wiring conductor 10 interposed therebetween. The positive electrode 1 and a positive electrode terminal 5P' obtained by allowing the external electrode 5P to be exposed to an upper surface of a bottom plate via a through hole in the bottom plate are not directly contacted with each other by bonding a metal foil 8P to a surface of the power generation element 4 closer to the positive electrode 1. This can suppress side reactions, such as melting of the positive electrode terminal 5P' due to voltage application, and alloying of the lid 7 and lithium in the negative electrode 3.
