To provide a security system of an electric apparatus using a portable recording medium which exhibits high security and in which security can be set/released by a simple operation.
A security code inputted from the input part 4 of the electronic apparatus 3 is written in a memory part 5 and a memory stick 2 to be loaded to a memory stick slot 12. The memory stick 2 can be freely attached/detached to/from the electric apparatus 3 and is portable. Since security is set to the electric apparatus 3 in accordance with the ON/OFF operation of an ACC (ACCessory), the memory stick 2 is loaded to the memory stick slot 12 as a reset key in the case of operating the electric apparatus 3, the security code read out from the memory stick 2 is compared with the security code read out from the memory part 5, and when both codes coincide with each other, the security is released, so that the normal operation of the electric apparatus 3 can be attained.
