Abstract:
To provide a seed removal device and a seed removal method, capable of efficiently and quickly removing a seed existing inside a sarcocarp of stone fruit such as an olive.SOLUTION: A seed removal device 1 comprises: holding members 3 that each stores a workpiece, and are installed on one or more rotatingly driving rotary tables 2; one or more seed extrusion parts 4 that each extrude a seed from the workpiece, and provided above the rotary table 2; and one or more seed extrusion assisting parts 5 that each hold a shell of the workpiece held by the holding member 3 when the seed is extruded by the seed extrusion part 4. When the seed is extruded from the seed, there is established a positional relation between the seed extrusion assisting part 5 and the holding member 3 that is a close one secured with a clearance of approximate 1 mm to 5 mm so that the seed extrusion assisting part 5 holds part of a sarcocarp of the workpiece to enable the seed to be solely discharged downwards.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
