Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent generation of root rot owing to moisture-retentive agent by attaching chitosan on outer face of plant seed.
CONSTITUTION: Chitosan 12 as moisture-retentive agent is attached on around seed 11 of plant. In attaching, chitosan is dissolved in water (in said case, acetic acid is preferably added to water so as to be pH6.5-6.9) and the solution is attached by a method such as coating or spraying, then dried. By said method, moisture-retentive agent is readily used, germination period is able to be contracted, percentage of germination is able to be improved and root rot owing to excess moisture is able to be prevented.
