Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seismic isolator for a building.
SOLUTION: In a normal state, a cover 7 is fitted to the upper face of a cylinder 3 and stably fixed on ground. During an earthquake, current is made to flow to a solenoid coil by a signal from a seismometer, and the cover 7 is removed from the cylinder 3 by a magnetic core 11. Pulleys 5 at the edge of a plurality of support beams 4 fixed on a bed rock 2 having a building fixed thereon are supported by steel wires 9 and vibration of ground 6 due to the earthquake is not transmitted to the building.
