Abstract:
To bear vertical load in addition to horizontal load.
A seismic control stud 1 has an upper stud 2, a lower stud 3 and a viscoelastic damper 4. In the viscoelastic damper 4, a clearance is formed in a vertical direction between the lower end of an intermediate plate 6 and a lower rib 8. Three pins 11 located on the lower rib 8 are erected parallel at predetermined spaces in a horizontal direction between front and rear outer plates 9, 9 in a form of penetrating the clearance, and the lower end of the intermediate plate 6 abuts on the upper end of each pin 11. Vertical load from the upper stud 2 is thereby received by the pins 11 and transmitted to the lower stud 3 to bear the vertical load.
