Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obviate the occurrence of a thread breakage even if a speed change from the maximum speed at the time of weft traction to a zero value by braking is applied to the thread in a weft feeder unit of a loom.
CONSTITUTION: This braking device consists of a drum TA of the weft feeder unit 10 and a braking means 12 (MF) engaged with this drum by elastic contact. The thread F passes between the drum TA and the braking means 12 (MF) and elongates along the route inclined by an angle α with the shaft (a) of the drum. The change in the tension bar H generated in the thread by the braking means gives rise to a braking action and a self-adjusting action.
