Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-cutting method which allows supporting and holding the hair only by one hand, while combing the hair, to cut the hair by using palm scissors operable through finger sensation, independent of handedness, although hair in a difficult-to-see occipital region is so far difficult to cut well by oneself because of much difficulty of operation of scissors by the not-dominant hand.SOLUTION: A self-cutting method using a pair of palm scissors uses a pair of scissor structures in which both sides are joined at base end parts of two blade parts consisting of a movable blade and a stationary blade in such a way as to be rotatable around a shank (motion as a pendulum with the stationary blade as center), and a handle part provided with a finger-through structure on the blade surface of the movable blade is joined at its tip so as to be rotatable around the shank. Two finger-through handle parts are joined on the blade surface of the stationary blade. By using the pair of palm scissors, index fingers become free, with nothing worn, and are not disturbed by the blade parts, allowing a user to support, hold and cut the hair, while combing the hair, by one hand.
