To enable the maintenance of an automatic door device speedily and accurately by diagnosing a failure or abnormality of a motor which opens and closes a door, a sensor which detects a passing body which approaches and leaves the door, and a control part which controls the motor based on signals from the sensor and outputting the results of the diagnosis which are stored.
A drive device 1 provided with a drive transmission mechanism 4 and a motor 6 drives doors 2a, 2b to open and close an opening provided in a building. A CPU 12 performs the processing such as the control of the doors. 2a, 2b and self-diagnosis of a failure or abnormality of the motor 6, sensor 24A to 24C which detect a passing body which approaches and leaves the doors, and a control part 10, according to a control program stored in ROM 14 and stores the results of the diagnosis into EEPROM 18. The results of the diagnosis stored in the EEPROM 18 are output to a handy terminal 36 or a personal computer 54. Consequently, it is possible to learn in which of constituent equipment the failure or abnormality occurs.
