Abstract:
To provide a tire assembly incorporating a self-inflating feature that self-inflates the tire.
A self-inflating tire assembly comprises: a tire having a tire cavity; first and second side walls extending respectively from first and second tire bead regions to a tire tread region. The tire assembly has a passage way in the tire, and a pump 41 positioned in the passage way. The pump 41 includes a tube, and a plurality of check valves 50 mounted in the tube and spaced apart from each other and forming a plurality of tube segments 110. The tube has a first end 41a in fluid communication with the atmosphere, and a second end 41b in fluid communication with the tire cavity.
