A remote control 30 for performing remote control includes a traveling switch 30A. Traveling hydraulic motors 23 and 24 are rotated and stopped by ON/OFF operation of the traveling switch 30A. The engine speed is set to a low-speed traveling engine speed Nmin until the duration of continuous ON operation of the traveling switch 30A of the remote control 30 reaches a preset given time. When the duration exceeds the given time, the engine speed is gradually increased to a high-speed traveling engine speed Nmax. According to this, the discharge quantity of a hydraulic pump 21 is increased, and the rotating speed of the traveling hydraulic motors 23 and 24 is increased according to the flow rate of pressure oil.
