Abstract:
To provide a method by which a velocity of a self-propelled vehicle that is guided about its route using a monorail and travels, is accurately detected.SOLUTION: A velocity detection device comprises members to be detected which are arranged at even intervals along a monorail 21 and detection means 31, 32 provided in a driver vehicle 1a to detect the members to be detected. The traveling velocity of the driver vehicle 1a is detected based on detection signals from the detection means 31, 32 detecting the members to be detected. Support columns 23, 24 which are arranged at even intervals along a virtual line SL that is a prescribed distance apart from the monorail 21 in the vertical direction and is parallel to the monorail 21 and support the monorail 21, are preferable as the members to be detected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
