A publisher A publishes a publication with an inserted application postcard printed with sample information about artworks that a printer holds in digitized form for sale and with a two-dimensional bar code encoding a URL of a cellular-telephone-oriented purchase site opened on the Internet. A purchase applicant who sees the inserted postcard in the published publication reads in the two-dimensional bar code on the postcard with a cellular telephone 3 and applies for purchase at the purchase site at the URL which has been read in. The purchase application data are transferred to the printer, and according to the transferred purchase application data, the printer selects corresponding data from the artwork data held and ships a print to the purchaser.
