Abstract:

PURPOSE: To automatically conduct after operation at the time of a jam by temporarily letting a document which has been copied be on standby by standby means until a copied sheet is discharged from a copying machine, so that the document is again put onto a platen when a paper jam occurs.

CONSTITUTION: A document 8 inserted in a document inlet 6 through a feed roll 9 from a document insertion tray 7 is led onto a platen 3 by a transport belt 5, and copied at a copy position by a copying machine 2. After completion of copying, the document 8 is carried out to standby means 10 by the transport belt 5 and a pinch roll 11, and let be on standby until a copied sheet is discharged from a copying machine 2. At this time, if a paper jam occurs in the copying machine 2, the transport belt 5 and a standby roller 10a of the standby means 10 are reversed by a paper jam signal, so that a succeeding document 8 is transported between a discharge tray 13 and the upper side portion of the transport belt, and the document 8 at the standby means 10 is again transported to a copy position on the platen 3.
