Abstract:

To provide a semiconductor storage device capable of performing garbage collection in a write-once read-many memory without significantly decreasing response speed to a data write request from a host.

The semiconductor storage device writes data into a semiconductor storage chip in response to a request to write data with a specified logical address from the host according in a write-once read-many system, and writes valid data into the semiconductor storage chip by compaction. The semiconductor storage device adjusts the frequency of writing in response to the requests from the host and the frequency of writing in compaction according to a predetermined ratio.
