Abstract:
PURPOSE: To semicontinuously depolymerize polyamide waste such as nylon 6 or the like.
CONSTITUTION: Polyamide waste and 5-50% by wt. thereof of a non-polymn. catalyst are added to a depolymerization reactor (a) and overheated steam is passed through polyamide after melting (b) and a monomer in a distillate is separated (c) and, after the conversion rate to the monomer reaches 40-90%, new waste is again added (d) and the processes (a)-(d) are repeated until required amt. is depolymerized.
