Title:
SENSOR FOR MEASURING CARBON DIOXIDE GAS IN RESPIRATORY GAS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3924638
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size and the cost of a sensor for measuring a carbon dioxide gas in a respiratory gas and to simultaneously improve the measuring accuracy and response.
SOLUTION: A tubular sensor main unit 1 is axially split into three sub- segments, a light emitting element 2 and a photodetector 3 are respectively provided at both the end sections, and a respiratory flow passage 4 is provided through a center part. The main unit 1 is mounted on the face below the nostrils, the respiratory gas to be exhausted from the foramen is introduced into the passage 4, passed through an optical axis for connecting the element 2 to the photodetector 3, and the carbon dioxide gas in the respiratory gas is measured.
