In the sensor module 1 provided with a light-emitting element 5 (or a light-receiving element 31), a visible-light LED 11 is placed. The visible-light LED 11 is attached so as to emit light in reverse direction to the emitting direction of the light-emitting element 5, and between the light-emitting element and the visible light LED 11, a light-shielding member 6 is placed.
