PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensor that can detect a nearby object.SOLUTION: The sensor includes: a light-emitting element 2 for sending light out; a light-receiving element 4 for receiving light in a nearby region 10 and a distant region 12; and a light-receiving lens 14 in front of the light-receiving element 4, which has a peripheral section 16 having a smooth surface and deflecting the light from the nearby region 10 to the light-receiving element 4 by total reflection.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
