PURPOSE: To obtain coincidence between the number of original character data and that of the character data obtained after editing, by deleting and adding the space data of a corresponding number when the character data are added to and deleted from the sentence data.
CONSTITUTION: The inserting data AWC of an inserting data file are inserted to the position of a sentence data file 1 where an inserting circuit 5 is designated by a stack point 3. In such a case, a data deleting circuit 7 deletes the space data of a number corresponding to the number of inserting data. When the character data existing within the section of the file 1 designated by the pointer 3 are deleted, the space data of a number corresponding to the number of deleted character data are inserted. As a result, the data of the same number as the data stored in the file 1 are stored in a sentence file 4.
