PURPOSE: To perform pressure swinging process by merry-go-round system by flowing through two adsorption beds in superposed manner.
CONSTITUTION: Particularly designed adsorption stage, replacing stage and purification-evacuation stage are combined. In the adsorption stage, flow of produced gas is stopped immediately before leakage of adsorbed component caused when the adsorption front approaches an outlet end. The flow is introduced into succeeding adsorption bed from its inlet end through one bypass pipe to superpose the end of a preceding adsorption stage and a start of the adsorption stage of a succeeding adsorption bed, and the superposition is caused in succession. In the replacing stage, the flow of gas of the adsorbed component is let flow into an inlet end of the adsorption bed before an adsorption stage is finished and an evacuation stage is commenced, and expelled gas produced by the replacement with the gas in the adsorption bed is let flow into an adsorption bed succeeding just to the adsorption bed. In the purification and evacuation stage, the concn. of unadsorbable gas in the product gas in the adsorbable gas stream is contrived to be further reduced by reducing the pressure to the intermediate pressure. By this process, the separated gas is flowed into a recompression bed without mixing with the product gas stream.
