Abstract:
To provide a configuration that can reduce the chances of having liquid developer discharged without being separated.SOLUTION: A pump 34c supplies a liquid developer to a gap between an electrode roller and a coating electrode member. The liquid developer supplied to the gap is conveyed by rotation of the electrode roller to reach a nip between a recovery roller and the electrode roller. Voltage is applied by a voltage application unit 345 to generate an electric field between the coating electrode member and the electrode roller in a direction that moves toner toward the electrode roller, and an electric field between the recovery roller and the electrode roller in a direction that moves the toner toward the recovery roller. A liquid developer separating operation comprises: having the pump 34c stop supplying the liquid developer; having the voltage application unit 345 stop applying the voltage between the coating electrode member and the recovery roller; and then stopping the driving of a drive motor 205 to stop the rotation of the electrode roller and the recovery roller.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
