Abstract:
To provide a separation membrane cleaning method and a separation membrane cleaning agent used therefor, which do not cause membrane deterioration and highly effectively remove organic substances and biofouling.SOLUTION: A method for cleaning a separation membrane comprises the steps of: (1) cleaning the separation membrane with a separation membrane cleaning agent (X) containing at least one selected from a group consisting of a chelating agent, an organic acid and an inorganic acid; and (2) cleaning, after the step (1), the separation membrane with a separation membrane cleaning agent (Y) containing at least one chelating agent (C) selected from a group consisting of an oxidizing agent (A), a heavy metal compound (B) and a phosphonic acid-based chelating agent, an aminocarboxylic acid-based chelating agent and citric acid. The separation membrane cleaning agent contains at least the one chelating agent (C) selected from the group consisting of the oxidizing agent (A), the heavy metal compound (B) and the phosphonic acid-based chelating agent, the aminocarboxylic acid-based chelating agent and the citric acid.SELECTED DRAWING: None
