Abstract:
To provide a separation method using a zeolite membrane capable of obtaining high gas separation performance.SOLUTION: A separation method includes: a step to prepare a zeolite membrane composite 1; and a step where a mixed gas containing carbon dioxide is supplied to the zeolite membrane composite 1 and carbon dioxide is separated from the mixed gas by permeating the zeolite membrane composite 1. The zeolite membrane composite 1 is provided with a support 11 and a zeolite membrane 12 formed on the support 11. The zeolite membrane 12 is the SAT-type and oriented new zeolite membrane. In X-ray diffraction pattern obtained by irradiating the zeolite membrane 12 with X-rays, peak strength near 2θ=13.9° is 1.5 times or more of peak strength near 2θ=8.5°. In the zeolite membrane 12, fine pores are oriented so as to open toward the surface of the zeolite membrane 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
